Bernadette Jakeman is currently an Associate Professor Clinician Educator at the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy in Albuquerque, NM. She contributes to both the didactic and experiential teaching at the College. She is a pharmacist clinician with prescriptive authority and provides clinical service to the Inpatient Infectious Diseases Service at UNM Hospital. In 2009 she established a pharmacist-run outpatient clinic that serves HIV- and HCV-infected patients. Her research relates to her work in infectious diseases and includes pharmacotherapy interventions, effective practice initiatives and teaching initiatives. She has recently published data on the pharmacist-performed tuberculosis testing initiative in New Mexico. She also provides pharmacy consultation to the New Mexico Department of Health TB ECHO.
This session will review prior research in community pharmacy setting and outline ongoing studies in this area.
