Bill Renz is Rite Aid’s group vice president of consumables, photo and PPD services. Renz, a 18 year Rite Aid veteran, was appointed to his current role in July 2014 with the goal of developing and executing strategic initiatives to grow Rite Aid’s grocery, snack, candy, beverages and beer, wine and spirit businesses. Renz leads a seasoned category management team consisting of over 30 professionals.
After joining Rite Aid in 2000 as a director of category management, general merchandise and photo, Renz was promoted to divisional vice president 2001, with oversight of key categories such as greeting cards, home electronics and appliances, batteries, laundry and paper products among other hard and soft lines general merchandise categories. In 2007, Renz was promoted to division vice president of commodities, focusing on edible and non-edible consumables and in September of 2008, he added household needs, photo and PPD services and was named division vice president of consumables, photo and PPD services.
Bill began his career at Sherwin Williams, auditing Gray DrugFair Stores and taking on increasing level of responsibilities in the areas of audit, business analysis, accounts payable and inventory management. Bill also worked for Circuit City in the area of buying and inventory management and was a part of the category management department at OfficeMax.
Renz is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He attended Bowling Green State University, where he obtained a B.S. in Business Administration with a degree in Finance.
In October 2015, Renz was recognized in Mass Market Retailer Magazine’s annual “Seven Who Made a Difference,” feature for his contributions to Rite Aid and the retail pharmacy industry.
