NACDS Institute: Exploring Specialty Drugs & Care Services in Community Pharmacy

August 24, 2019

3:00PM - 4:30PM

Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, Room 253 C

Chain Members Only

Community pharmacies across the United States increasingly offer specialty services to meet the evolving needs of their patients. Innovative specialty drugs offer needed cures and treatments for patients, often those dealing with complex disease states, and the delivery of such drugs requires high touch interaction with patients to manage their therapies. This session will cover an in-depth analysis of the specialty drug and pharmacy market, while also looking at specific ways that community pharmacy has embraced specialty as an important cornerstone of being a healthcare destination for patients. As community pharmacy drives toward integration with specialty, there is an increased focus on paying for medications based on outcome and use of value-based models, which require the use of big data and technology to further optimize patient care.
