Andre Persaud

Andre Persaud is an accomplished C-suite retail and retail healthcare executive with broad and diverse experience of leading organizations with P/L responsibility in $3B-$32B public and private equity owned companies across North America.

Currently, Andre serves as a Senior Advisor with Alvarez and Marsal Retail and Consumer Group, a Board Advisor for Pharmacity, one of Vietnam’s top pharmacy chain with about 1000 stores, and Advisor for Peak Span Capital.

Prior, Andre served as Chief Retail Officer for Rite Aid Corporation, leading the $17B, 2350+ store drug store business.

Andre started his career as a pharmacist and served in progressive leadership roles to eventually lead drug store operations for Walmart Canada. He then served in multiple senior leadership roles for Shoppers Drug Mart (Canada’s leading drug store company) in a turnaround and growth mandate. Andre then served in a senior leadership capacity for Loblaw Companies Ltd, Canada’s leading grocery business. In the U.S., Persaud has served as senior vice president store operations for Burlington Stores in a period of operational transformation and growth. Following that, Persaud served as executive vice president retail, for Shopko Stores Operating Company having direct responsibility for all operating divisions and banners across retail, pharmacy, and optical. Andre was as an executive consultant with Wakefern Food Corp (ShopRite Supermarkets), the largest retail coop in the U.S. In this capacity, he worked with the C-suite leadership team on the company’s ongoing strategic transformation and was directly involved in strategy, digital, stores, merchandising, supply chain, and own brands.

Andre has served as Vice Chair for the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) and on  the Executive Council for Consumer Goods Technology.

Andre has been recognized by Mass Market Retailers (leading industry publication) as one of the top fifty retail executives in North America, Business Insider magazine as top retail power player, and National Diversity Council for leadership excellence.
