Julie Akers, PharmD, FWSPA

Dr. Julie Akers is Associate Dean of External Relations and an Associate Professor at the Washington State University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (WSU CPPS). After receiving her Doctor of Pharmacy, she worked for an independent chain as a Pharmacist and District Manager for 11 years. She then oversaw outpatient pharmacies for a physician-owned clinic prior to joining the WSU CPPS in 2013. She teaches Pharmacy Law, an advocacy elective, and lectures in Health Care Systems, Pharmacy Management, and Pharmacotherapy. Her research focuses on increasing patient access to pharmacist-provided quality care in outpatient settings.
