Aaron Wiese began his career at Hy-Vee in 1993 while in high school. After graduating college, he was named operations manager at Hy-Vee Care. In 2012, he joined Hy-Vee’s executive staff as director, real estate, strategic planning, and in 2013 became director, health/wellness, strategic planning.

In 2014, Wiese was promoted to assistant vice president, specialty pharmacy, and then vice president, business development, at Amber Specialty Pharmacy. In 2015, he was selected as assistant vice president, Hy-Vee, and chief operating officer, Amber Specialty Pharmacy. In early 2016, he became assistant vice president, Hy-Vee, and president, Amber Specialty Pharmacy. He was named vice president, strategy/innovation, and then he served as vice president, health and wellness strategy, in 2017. Later that year, Wiese was named vice president, HealthMarkets, health and wellness strategy. In 2019, he was promoted to vice president, Hy-Vee, Inc., and president, Amber Specialty Pharmacy, and then senior vice president, Hy-Vee, Inc., and president, Amber Specialty Pharmacy.

Wiese was named chief strategy officer, Hy-Vee, Inc., and president, Amber Specialty Pharmacy, in January 2020. He transitioned to senior vice president, health, wellness, chief strategy officer, Hy-Vee, Inc., and president, Amber Specialty Pharmacy, later that year. Then in September 2020, he added chief health officer to his title. He was promoted to the executive vice president level in December 2020. In April 2021, he became president, digital growth and co-chief operating officer, Hy-Vee, Inc. In December 2021, he was named president of Hy-Vee’s subsidiaries/supply chain. In fall 2022, he was named president, Hy-Vee Healthcare, LLC, and in December 2022, he was promoted to his current role of president, Hy-Vee, Inc.

Wiese is a leader in the health care and retail industry through his service on the Iowa Healthcare Collaborative and Iowa Healthiest State Initiative board of directors. He also previously served as a board member for the National Association of Specialty Pharmacy.

Wiese received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Northern Iowa.
